SHANGHAI, China – The 2021 China Cycle show will be moved to another location than the past 5 editions. The 30th China International Bicycle Fair will be held at Shanghai New International Expo Center, the same venue as where the event already took place between 2003 and 2014.
In floorspace and number of visitors the largest bicycle show in the world is scheduled from 5 to 8 May 2021. The 2020 edition of the China Cycle show had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 30th edition is now back on its old dates in early May next year.
Back to Pudong
The improvements of the exhibition halls of the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) and surrounding facilities were the main reason for organizers Shanghai Xiesheng Exhibition Co., Ltd. And the China Bicycle Association to move the event again. The Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) is based in the city’s business district Pudong.
Since 2015 the China Cycle took place at the new National Exhibition and Convention Centre, also located in Shanghai. This convention centre was known for its immense size. At the opening in 2015 it was the largest building in the world. The architect who designed the ‘cold’ steel and concrete structure has apparently forgotten that people should move around on shows as the distances in this venue are very big. The decision to bring back the show to the Shanghai New International Expo Center will certainly contribute to the positive mood at the show.
